U.S. and Iran Edge Toward Ceasefire Framework

Markets are tracking peace negotiations closely as U.S. and Iranian negotiators made significant progress toward a framework agreement, per Axios, with mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey working urgently to bridge remaining gaps before the ceasefire expires April 21. President Trump's team, including Vice President Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, spent Tuesday on calls and exchanging draft proposals with Iranian officials, with Vance saying, "I think the people we're sitting across from wanted to make a deal. I feel very good about where we are."

Netflix Falls on Soft Q2 Guidance as Hastings Exits Board

Netflix (NFLX) is down -10% in premarket trading after Q2 revenue guidance of $12.57B missed the $12.64B consensus, with EPS guidance also coming in below the estimate. Q1 results were strong, with revenue of $12.25B topping estimates and EPS of $1.23 well ahead of the $0.76 forecast, though. Co-founder Reed Hastings, who built NFLX from a mail-order DVD service into the world's dominant streaming platform, announced he will leave the board when his term expires in June. The quarter was also the first since Paramount Skydance (PSKY) outbid Netflix for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), with CFO Spencer Neumann confirming no material margin impact from the failed pursuit.

Anthropic Mythos Draws European Scrutiny

Anthropic is in discussions with the European Commission over its model lineup, including cybersecurity versions not yet available in the EU, after committing to the bloc's general-purpose AI code of practice. The talks coincide with growing U.S. momentum around Claude Mythos Preview, with the Trump administration exploring federal agency access and CEO Dario Amodei set to meet White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Anthropic, backed by Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet (GOOGL), remains in litigation with the Department of War after rejecting demands for unrestricted model access.

Tesla Eyes Larger Model Y for India Launch

Tesla (TSLA) is up +0.5% in premarket trading ahead of plans to unveil the Model Y L in India as early as next week, per Bloomberg. The long-wheelbase, six-seat variant adds a third row and expanded family practicality, shipped from Gigafactory Shanghai, which remains the only site currently producing the SUV. The India push is part of a broader portfolio refresh strategy, though sales there remain light due to steep import tariffs, and the launch arrives days before TSLA is due to report Q1 earnings next week.

Krispy Kreme Enters Netherlands in Franchise Push

Krispy Kreme (DNUT) signed an agreement with Jafa Holding BV to bring the brand to the Netherlands, with the first Hot Light Theater Shop expected to open later this year and roughly 30 locations planned over five years. The expansion fits DNUT's capital-light franchise strategy as the company targets at least 100 new global shops and three to four new international markets in 2026, building on existing European presence in France, Ireland, Turkey, and the U.K. DNUT shares are down –12% YTD, and management has positioned the Netherlands entry as a template for further low-capital international growth through experienced local operators.
